I UPLOADED VIDEO ESSAY WINDOW IN-BETWEEN (SPRING), 2017 TO VIMEO AND IT CAN BE WATCHED THERE

During the year 2017 I went through my photographs from the years 2009-2017 and finalised a four-part video essay Window In-between. I developed a technic which made possible to transform photographs in a certain way. Then I made soundtrack of field recordings and wrote a text. 2008 was the year when I moved from Oulu to Helsinki and left behind a religion where I was grown up (Conservative Laestadianism, in Finnish vanhoillislestadiolaisuus) and this video essay is connected to that period of my life when I lived ”new life in new place” (I have taken all the photographs of the video in Helsinki). It became slow breathing in and out – existential identity contemplation in which the mind is an ever-changing window.

The video essay is divided in four parts based on seasons and here is the spring part. Big thanks for Jani Purhonen and Saku Kämäräinen for the field recordings and all friends & loved ones who allowed me to take photos of them for this and other parts!
